Oh snap! Dr. J callin' the anonymous runner out on bad technique.

EPOC is my excuse for taking 50min to do 3 sets of squats on Monday. Is that wrong?

I had heard that! That is crazy that a shoe originally designed for the water is now being marketed as injury proof. I totally respect Dr. Leiberman's research, but it's still quite young and you're right: There are way too many other variables that also come into play when it comes to predicting injury rates. Thanks for the comment!

Did you know that the vibram fiver finger shoe was originally introduced as a water sandal...then suddenly it became a barefoot running shoe...PLEASE. I will take a stand against this...if you run in vibrams you are without a doubt raising the bar for a serious metatarsal injury among a whole slew of other issues involving the posterior tibialis, calcaneus, and triceps surae muscle complex. Lastly, running is a head to toe activity and I wish it were as easy as just putting someone in a shoe to solve all of their problems. If someone for example, failed to address the woman in the picture's arm swing on the right then they simply dont get running. Otherwise I really like the point that you make about the fact that most people are not running for performance or sport but rather for general fitness and caloric expenditure. Nice work Meaghan!
