FitnessBuilder

Fitness apps are more popular than ever. But which ones are worth it?

PumpOne’s FitnessBuilder app sure is. In fact, it’s one of the easiest (and that’s coming from one of the least tech-savvy people on the planet…) and most effective ways there is to track your workouts.

The database contains 4,000 different exercises in the form of both interactive videos and diagrams with easy-to-follow cues that allow you to easily construct a variety of workouts and never get bored – all while ensuring you’re doing them properly. Even better, the software lets you record and save your sets, reps, weight and any additional notes each time you do a workout so that you can see your progress over time.

At FocusNYC, we’ve been using the Workout Builder feature in our Fit 6 semi-private training classes to give our clients a more personalized program within the enjoyable atmosphere of a group fitness class. While we trainers construct and upload the workouts, our clients have their own accounts, log in and record what they complete from week to week in the iPads set up at each of our six stations.

The exercise pics, cues and videos also aid in keeping a group moving quickly and appropriately while under the watch of only one person, so flow and safety are never compromised. And should a client need a modification or alternate exercise to do, a simple drag-and-drop takes care of it.

I think FitnessBuilder is a great way to enhance your workout experience, but don’t take my word for it. Try it out on your own or head over to theĀ FocusNYC facility in Manhattan!
